Job Title: Manager, Airport Flow

Position Overview:

YVR is a bustling hub of connectivity, where people, places, and cargo converge in a dynamic environment. As part of the Airside Operations team, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and safe movement of aircraft and passengers throughout the airport. The Manager, Airport Flow oversees the end-to-end flow of operations, making rapid decisions and fostering key partnerships to maintain efficient aircraft flow day and night.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor factors influencing airport flow and plan ahead to support seamless airport operations in airside, terminal, and baggage areas.
• Analyze demand peaks and forecast changing demand to manage stand planning, apron, and system congestion effectively.
• Participate in community operational briefings and support the Airport Reservation Office as needed.
• Respond to changes in aircraft flow, including weather and system impacts, making critical decisions to ensure operational success.
• Develop and maintain working relationships with NAV Canada to manage aircraft flow and capacity effectively.

Key Qualifications:

• Minimum three years of management experience, preferably in operations management, with at least 10 years in a complex technical environment such as aviation.
• Bachelor’s degree or technical certification related to aviation, operations management, maintenance, business, or engineering.
• Understanding of airport operations, airline and ground handling operations, and terminal processes.
• Familiarity with regulatory and operational documentation such as TP312, CARS, NOTAM Manual, and Airport Operations Manual.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to derive insights from data to develop and implement operational plans.
• Excellent judgment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills in high-pressure scenarios.
• Ability to multitask, balance competing priorities, and collaborate effectively with peers and service providers.

Additional Details:

• Rotational shift-based role requiring on-site presence at the airport for 12-hour shifts.
• Open to both Vancouver Airport Authority employees and external candidates.
• Salary Range: $100,640 to $144,670 per annum, with an annual bonus target at 15% of annual salary.
